    Tamil kootu and kozhumbu varieties

    Tamil Kootu and Kozhambu: Kootu, traditional stew like thick gravy and a side dish from Tamil kitchens, made from vegetables cooked with lentils. Coconut paste may be added or the kootu may be made without coconut.

    Kozhumbu a liquid gravy usually with a tamarind base and roasted spices or spice paste, with vegetables  or dried berries.
